About Dr. Zakir Hussain College

Dr. Zakir Hussain College, sponsored by THE INDIA EDUCATION TRUST, is named after the great educationist and Former President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain, who devoted his life to the cause of promoting education.

He played a remarkable role in national integration and served as the Vice Chancellor of two prestigious institutions: Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University.

The foundation stone of the college was laid in 1974 by the then Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi.

Dr. Zakir Hussain College of Arts and Science (Affiliated to Krishna University, Machilipatnam) was officially established in the year 1991.
